What is Exeter Wine Festival?

Exeter Wine Festival is a celebration of exceptional wine, delicious food and live music, held at the historic Exeter Castle. Whether you’re a wine enthusiast or simply enjoy discovering something new, the festival offers the perfect opportunity to taste, explore and enjoy a fantastic selection of wines.

 

Exeter Wine Festival takes place from 30 May – 2 June 2027 at Exeter Castle in the heart of Exeter.

The festival takes place at Exeter Castle, Castle Street, Exeter, Devon, EX4 3PU, right in the centre of Exeter.

Wine is at the heart of the experience. You’ll be able to discover and taste a wide variety of wines, meet exhibitors and wine specialists, enjoy delicious food and listen to live music throughout the festival.

Opening times will vary depending on the day and session. Full opening times and session information will be published on the website once confirmed.

Your ticket includes entry to Exeter Wine Festival and access to the festival’s wine tasting experience, subject to the ticket type purchased. We recommend booking in advance as some sessions and ticket types may have limited availability. Tickets may be available on the day, subject to availability.

If you can no longer attend, ticket transfers and refunds are subject to our booking terms and conditions. Please have your ticket available on your phone when you arrive and save it before travelling to the festival.

Your ticket gives you access to a fantastic selection of wines from our participating exhibitors. Explore different producers, regions and styles, taste at your own pace and chat with passionate wine experts who are there to share their knowledge and help you discover something new. You don’t need to be a wine expert — just come with an open mind and a taste for good wine!

Absolutely. Where exhibitors offer wines for sale, you’ll be able to purchase bottles of the wines you’ve discovered and enjoyed. Availability, pricing and collection or delivery options will vary between exhibitors, so please speak to them directly for details.

Yes. A selection of food traders and producers will be joining us, offering delicious options to enjoy alongside your wine.

We’ll be announcing our food traders and vendors as they are confirmed. Keep an eye on the website and our social media channels for the latest updates.

We aim to provide a good selection of food options, including vegetarian and vegan choices. Individual traders will be able to confirm their specific menu options.

If you have an allergy or dietary requirement, please speak directly to the food trader before ordering. Our traders prepare their own food, so they are best placed to advise you about ingredients and allergens.

Outside food will generally not be permitted, with the exception of specific dietary or medical requirements. Please contact us in advance if you have particular circumstances you need to discuss.

Outside alcohol will not be permitted into the festival. There will be plenty of wine and other drinks available to enjoy inside and at the bar.

A selection of non-alcoholic drinks will be available for guests who don’t wish to drink alcohol.

You are permitted to bring in an empty drinks bottle that can be filled up with water at a filling station.

Yes. Exeter Wine Festival is an 18+ event. Anyone under the age of 18 will not be permitted to attend.

Please bring valid photographic ID with you. You may be asked to provide ID when entering the festival or when purchasing alcohol.

We operate a Challenge 25 policy. If you are lucky enough to look under 25, you may be asked to provide valid photographic identification when purchasing or being served alcohol.

There is no on-site parking available, however there are several city-centre car parks within walking distance of Exeter Castle. We recommend using public transport where possible, particularly during busy festival sessions.

We want Exeter Wine Festival to be accessible and enjoyable for everyone. As the event takes place within a historic castle, some areas may have specific accessibility considerations.

Yes. Registered assistance dogs are welcome at Exeter Wine Festival.
